MAXCEI is committed to selling products that meet the highest quality standards. This Warranty Policy complies with applicable Portuguese and European legislation, namely Decree-Law No. 84/2021, which transposes EU Directive 2019/771 on contracts for the sale of goods.
All new products purchased by individual consumers carry a statutory warranty of 3 (three) years from the date of delivery, in accordance with applicable law.
Note: The3-year period applies to purchases made on or after1 January 2022, the date Decree-Law No. 84/2021 entered into force. Products purchased before that date are governed by the previous regime (Decree-Law No. 67/2003), which provided a warranty period of2 years.
When an invoice is issued under a company VAT number, the transaction falls outside the consumer protection regime and is governed by the Portuguese Civil Code. In these cases, the warranty period is 6 months, unless the manufacturer contractually offers a longer warranty.
Business buyers should verify the manufacturer-specific warranty conditions set out in the product documentation or applicable supply agreement.
The statutory warranty applies to all product categories sold by MAXCEI. However, there are relevant specifics depending on the type of product:
Electronic components — including LED bulbs, sensors, ECUs and parking assistance systems — are covered by the applicable statutory warranty (3 years B2C / 6 months B2B) against manufacturing defects and non-conformity.
MAXCEI emphasises the importance of correct installation by a qualified professional. To process a warranty claim for electronic components, an installation invoice issued by a certified workshop may be required, as improper installation constitutes grounds for exclusion of warranty under applicable law.
Non-electronic accessories (steering wheel covers, gear knobs, trims, exhausts) and consumables (brake pads, wiper blades, filters) are equally covered by the statutory warranty.
The warranty covers manufacturing defects or non-conformity only. Wear resulting from normal use is not covered. A brake pad that fractures after 500 km constitutes a quality defect; the same pad worn down after extended use does not.
The warranty does not cover, in particular:
